Biographical history

David L. Hunsberger was the son of Noah and Minnie Hunsberger. Noah was the minister at Erb Street Mennonite Church for many years. When David was 14 they moved to St. Jacobs, where David lived for 55 years. In 1956 he married Katherine (Kate) Nafziger; they had three sons and one daughter. He was a professional photographer in the village for most of those years.

Donated to the family to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario in 2005.

Contains prints, negatives and slides. Includes many portraits of families and individuals in the St. Jacobs area. Also documents community events in various parts of Waterloo Region. Mennonite events, groups, families and individuals are highly represented.

Also includes copies of older photographs not originally created by David L. Hunsberger. He provided a photograph reproduction service.
