Archival history

Alf Redekopp borrowed a copy from Hedwig (Isaak) Penner, St. Catharines, Ontario on Aug. 12, 2017, scanned it and returned the original. Penner acquired it from her sister Lydia who received it from the family of Liese (Giesbrecht) Ruff who immigrated to Germany in 1995. An inscription on the back of the photo dated 1991 and signed "Von Eure Euch liebende Onkel & Tante John & Liese Ruff", may suggest that it was sent from Russia, since John Ruff died in Kasahkstan in 1994 before Liese migrated to Germany (1995).
