This photo is of the former Sommerfeld Mennonite Church building in Altona, Manitoba on the corner of Centre Ave. and 2nd St. S.W. The building was bought by the Optimist Club of Altona. In the foreground are headstone in the Sommerfeld cemetery. The photo was taken in winter.

"German Cemetery overgrown at Pordenau church. Gert. Albrecht." The Mennonite Church at Pordenau was destroyed during WWII. Evidently this is the Mennonite cemetery at Pordenau. Albrecht stands beside one of the gravestones (taller than he is).

Grave of Dietrich H. Epp (1875-1955) & his wife Malwine Thiessen (1880-1942). He died at Rosthern, Sask. 2 days after his 80th birthday. He was founder & editor of "Der Bote." See CM 3-14-1.
This photo is of five men visiting the grave of Jakob Zhidkov in Russia. The grave has a tall headstone and is surrounded by a white fence. The description on the back says, "l. to r. Michael Zhidkov, Victor Krieger, Frank C. Peters, Ilya Orlov, and Adolfs Klaupiks. At the grave of his parents, Michael Zhidkov and his friends pause for a moment to reflect on the leadership which his father, Jakob Zhidkov, had given the Baptist Church in Russia for many years. When he died in 1966, William Snyder, Adolfs Klaupiks, Frank Peters, and David Neufeld attended his funeral".
