Geschichte
"The Canadian Mennonite" newspaper was founded in October 1953 by D.W. Friesen and Sons. In October 1962, the Canadian Mennonite Association, an inter-Mennonite, non-profit group of shareholders, became the paper's publisher. On 5 Apr 1967, the Association was incorporated in Manitoba as the Canadian Mennonite Publishing Association, Inc.
Membership in the Association consisted of individuals or organizations who had pledged $100 or more. The Association met annually and elected a board that met semi-annually. The board elected executive, editorial, and business committees.
"The Canadian Mennonite" ceased publication on 19 Feb 1971 due to financial difficulties. It was succeeded by the Canadian Mennonite Publishing Service, which published the Mennonite Reporter.
