The Brodsky estate of Peter and Marie Bahnmann

This photo is a wide angle view of the Peter Bahnmann (1839-1907) Brodsky estate. In the foreground (right) are Peter and Marie Bahnmann. Behind them are many workers dressed in typical Russian style, both men and women. Oxen and cows, two wagons full of hay, two riders on two horses, and two horses with a buggy are in the background. Further back then are trees and the estate with at least 5 buildings visible and a stone gate. This is the estate that would pass on to Peter and Maria's daughter Katharine and her husband Peter Wiebe.

Tina Fehderau as a young woman

This photo is of Nocholas J. Fehderau's second oldest sister, Tina. As a young woman, Tina spent a year in Plauen (Vogtland, Germany) at Housekeeping School (ca. 1915). While there she learned about photography. On her return to the Ukraine, Tina took great pleasure in taking and developing her own pictures. Some of the following casual family poses were likely taken by her. See: From the Heights into the Depths, p. 69.
