History

Abraham R. Bergen was born Heinrich Bergen and Katharina Reimer in Manitoba. In 1910 he married Katharina Siemens, she died in 1912, two days after the birth of their son Heinrich S. Bergen. In 1913 he married Maria Neufeld. By 1913, the family had relocated to Lost River, Saskatchewan and were part of the Saskatchewan Bergthal Church. In 1927, he moved his family to Paraguay as part of the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church migration and became a minister in the church.
