Portrait of the Abram Janzen family

This family photograph is of Margaretha Janzen, nee Paetkau and Abram Janzen and their eight children, four girls and four boys.. The group is in front of a cloth curtain and behind it is the corner of a brick building. The infant on the mother's lap is the daughter, Justina. The other three girls are wearing long dark dresses each with a brooch at the neckline. The boys are all wearing buttoned-up jackets. The boy at the back, Abram, is wearing a lighter coloured jacket, the other three are dark. Two boys in front are sitting on wooden footstools. The mother, Margaretha, appears to be wearing a dark bonnet.
