Married Agatha Harder. She died 1870.
Married Anna Heidebrecht in Nebraska, ca. 1881.
Became agitator for landless Mennonites. Arrested April 1874 and sentenced to prison. Escaped and went to Zurich, Switzerland, May 1876.
Went to the United States soon after, exact date unknown. Went to Jansen, Nebraska.
Had some involvement in promoting silk industry.
Summer 1887 returned to Russia as an American citizen and was soon expelled.
Died May 7, 1889, Jansen, Nebraska.
