Scope and content

This photo is of scrapped WWII airplanes in the yard of Steinbach Sheet Metal. The planes are Westland Lysander (nickname the "Lizzie"). Several hundred were built and sent to Canada before and during the Second World War. British planes were named after mythical or historical military leaders; in this case the Spartan admiral Lysander was chosen.
