Biographical history

With his wife, Esther Kniss, Paul Kniss served as a missionary in India for 43 years.  Together, Kniss and his wife were largely responsible for establishing Bihar Mennonite Church and Good Books, a media ministry based in Ranchi, India.  The Knisses were also involved in transfering leadership of the Bihar Mennonite Church from missionaries to Indian church leaders.

This photo is of refugees getting water from a pump in East Pakistan. The description on the back says, "There is water everywhere as it rains every day. But clean water is available only from the pumps put in by the Indian government for the refugees."
